This community project involves hundreds of volunteers and provides low-income families the opportunity of a better Christmas. “The College of Liberal Studies and OU Outreach are extremely excited to be spending the afternoon at the Cleveland County Christmas Store,” said Dr. Pappas, Vice President for University Outreach and Dean of CLS. “An integral part of our mission is community partnership, therefore we feel strongly about the Christmas Store’s continuing commitment to assist local families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate this most joyous season.  “

For the 2010 holiday season, The Christmas Store is located at 641 E. Robinson Street at the old County Health Department building. The store will open December 6 through December 10. There will be a day dedicated to children shopping on December 11. Donations such as new children’s toys, canned or boxed grocery items, household goods such as bedding and bathroom accessories and winter wear are very welcome.
