OU’s Civic Orchestra Accepting New Members

The Civic Orchestra, a program coordinated by the University of Oklahoma Outreach, will have its orientation on and begin its rehearsals the week of Monday, August 18.

The OU Civic Orchestra is a performing group made up of string, woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from OU and the surrounding community. The Civic Orchestra provides advanced musicians the opportunity to perform high-quality orchestral literature and is open to music and non-music majors.

The orientation for the fall 2014 session of OU’s Civic Orchestra will start at 7 p.m. in Pitman Recital Hall of the Catlett Music Center at the University of Oklahoma’s Norman campus.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays throughout the fall, culminating in a pair of concerts that will take place in November.

Participants may choose either credit or noncredit enrollment. All participants must register and attend the orientation. A $140 registration fee will be due at the time of registration.
