OU Outreach Unveils New Leadership Center
The University of Oklahoma Outreach’s most recent addition is the Center for Leadership Excellence. The new center will provide programs and services to enhance the performance of leaders at all levels of organizational responsibility.
Directed by Paul Dyer, the center offers consultation, open-enrollment and on-site leadership programs, assessments and customized services to corporate, government and higher education audiences.
“The creation of this center puts in place an activity that we have needed as we provide services to community organizations,” said James Pappas, vice president for Outreach. “It is an important addition to current Outreach offerings related to leadership and executive training.”
Dyer holds a PhD in industrial/organizational psychology and has a long history of helping improve individual, team and organizational performance. During his career, he has taught organizational behavior and psychology courses at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., written and published two career books and served as an internal and external business consultant with individuals and organizations.
Dyer has worked with Dow Chemical, Hilton, the Maytag Corporation, M & M Mars, Universal Studios and Devon Energy. He has also created two management development programs, the Program for Effective Leadership and Foundations for Effective Leadership.
